Short on Time

Wow so I'm shooting this week and honestly I don't know how I'm going to fit it in with my schedule but if I want to stay anywhere remotely on pace I'm gonna have to figure it out. Noah and I were talking about it and came up with a general idea for how we are planning on scheduling it but at this point in the year, its difficult to get even two or three people together after school so its going to be a little tricky to coordinate a shooting session, let alone an entire sequence of shots in various locations.

Image result for film set          Our general plan right now is to shoot the urban scenes sometime this week, by going to the nearby movie theater (I outlined in an earlier post why this would be one of the best locations to shoot) with our friend and new cameraman. This would take place right after sunset when it starts to get dark, so we will have ideal lighting for the night scenes. One issue that just came to me though was the possible continuity errors of shooting as its getting dark, as some scenes would be lit differently than other scenes in the same sequence. I'll be sure to keep this in mind as I film, because continuity is a very important part of the finished product being a quality film. Some ways I was thinking to avoid this with the time and lighting specifically was both planning the scenes in detail and shooting them in rapid succession, which is probably the most effective way but will take some skill to pull off, or simply add the right lighting tints when we edit, which would be pretty easy but might not look as smooth or authentic.

If further scenes need to be shot, those will most likely take place a few days later at one of our houses, but our plan is to get all the shooting done in one day. As a whole, I think this will best preserve the continuity while staying on schedule for the project's deadline, and worst case scenario, we just reshoot the same scenes a few days later. This plan could very easily be tweaked in the future, but this outline is what we intend to follow as of right now.
